working overseas gives you a lot of opportunity to see a lot of electronics and household electronics at cheaper price... some of these items are not readily available back home.... looking at them makes you envious and wanting to have them....
here is where good thinking matter most, for me i always categorize things before jumping to a decision to buy or not to buy any item that fancy my eyes... the question that i always ask myself is, "Do i need it or i just want it?"
it makes a big difference especially when you are on a tight budget... and you know that our family are looking up to you.....

It's typical for OFWs to have such impulses when it comes to latest gadgetries, from simple MP3s to Laptops to HD-Ready Plasma TVs (naglalaway ako...). Who hasn't?
It's also typical for OFWs to spend a lot when we get back to the motherland. (Seafarers, mainly, are tagged "One Day Millionaires")
And it's regardless if it's a WANT or a NEED.
Haven't you noticed nowadays that most of the times, a WANT becomes a NEED ("honey, we need that plasma, kasi ang kapitbahay natin meron na...") especially for an OFW Family?
It's time we become smarter with our hard earned money for the family.
Besides, like the common saying, "when you're in US, you earn dollars... you SPEND dollars too."
Same reason with us in the Philippines. We earn peso... we spend peso... kaya laging kapos.
Kahit kailangan mo ang kailangan mo.
